Magical Training

The teachers of World Tree Lyceum offer a wide range of magical courses and workshops, some limited to initiates or students of specific traditions (such as Anderson Feri), but most open to all. We provide individual and group training, both online and in-person.

Classes and workshops in the past (both online and in-person) have included ogham, tarot, sigilization, trickster magic, magical writing and storytelling, mythic work, ritual theatre, energetic and trance drumming, hedge witchery, shapeshifting, time magic, aspecting, voice work, chant-writing, sacred geometry, sex-magic, ritual music-making, kitchen witchery, magical ethics, spellcrafting and magical art, and many others.

Classes currently scheduled are listed below, but if you are interested in others not listed, or in scheduling an offered class at another time, or feel free to contact us and we'll be happy to discuss the possibilities for either online or in-person work. We also offer a one-on-one mentorship program, special events and webinars, and two discounted class packages.

Experiential Celtic Tree Ogham Workshop

Next class: April 27 - June 22 2025 (8 Weeks)

Online - anywhere with internet access and the ability to download documents and play audio files

With Raven Edgewalker

The Celtic Ogham is an old Irish alphabet or cipher. Just like many other alphabets (Runes, Greek, Hebrew for e.g.) it is an alphabet for which each letter has magical significance and multiple associations - one set of associations is that of native trees. When working with the Ogham as the Tree Ogham, the divinatory meaning is derived from observation of the ecological, practical as well as magical properties of twenty trees native to the British Isles, e.g. Birch, Rowan, Alder, Willow and Ash.

Interest in the Ogham, and especially with its associations with trees has grown rapidly in the last decade and has expanded outwards from the British Isles, extending into countries such as the USA and Australia where many of the Celtic trees are not native to the land, which can present challenges in working with this system.

In this workshop we will work on learning skills and tools to develop and build energetic connections to the trees of the Celtic Ogham, along with using other resources and research to learn about both some of the history of the ogham and the energies of its associated trees. We will learn how to weave together our experiences of the trees, along with the traditional associations and lore of the Ogham into better understanding the Ogham as a magical system. Deepening our connections with the trees that are part of our native ecosystems whether you live in mountains or the desert or even in the British Isles (!); and work towards building a personal system of associations to the ogham that is relevant to your own land and practice.

We will work with trees of the ogham as our allies and as our teachers learning to listen to them and hearing what offerings we can make to them for their assistance in our work. We will learn some of the basic practical skills required to begin making your own ogham set if you desire.

Homework will be set by each Wednesday evening, I ask each participant to commit to checking in to the group (we will use a Facebook group to facilitate this) about the week’s work by the following Tuesday evening so that I have time to read and respond before the next week’s work.

You will need a journal and writing materials – I would suggest purchasing a new journal for this work, so that your notes are not caught up in the midst of other writings - or it would be appropriate to use loose pages in a binder. You will need to be able to access research materials, whether online or offline, on trees, their ecology, practical and magical uses, as well as their use in art and literature. You may want or desire art supplies or a camera if this is one way that you like to work.

You will also need an ogham set to participate in this workshop! if you do not already own one please visit Raven's online Etsy store at Greenwoman Crafts.

Price sliding scale $100-$200 - please decide where on the sliding scale you are, explanations are not required, and if the lower end of the scale is impossible for you, please contact us. If you are re-taking a class you've taken with us before, please deduct 50%.

To book your place please send an email to raven@greenwomancrafts.com and request a registration form for the class, or fill out the online form HERE.

Please contact Raven at the same email address for any further information or questions.

Magic of Pentacles

Next class: October 26 - December 14 2025 (7 Weeks)

Online - anywhere with internet access and the ability to download documents and play audio files

With Raven Edgewalker and Chelidon

Raven and Chelidon are developing a new class for 2025, exploring the history and magic of sacred Pentacles. We will work with some of the lore and experience of the existing Pentacles of Elements, Iron and Pearl, and will then delve into developing our own, indivdual Pentacle for deeper magical practice. We will post more information here as we continue creating the course, but if you have particular interests that you would like to see covered, feel free to contact us.

In this 7-week class homework will be sent out by Sunday evening each week, and we ask each participant to commit to checking into the group (we will use a private/hidden Facebook group to facilitate this) about the week’s work by the following Saturday evening (or at any point in the preceding week - we will be in different time zones - you will not all need to be online at the same time to check-in), so that we have time to read and respond before the next week’s work. Trance work will be available in audio form (MP3 audio files) for download and playback at any time, and transcripts are provided for trances and other audio materials.

Note: this is an online course, and anyone who has access to a computer, email and the ability to play audio files is welcome to participate. We are particularly hoping that this will allow those who find it difficult to attend an in-person class because of geography, schedule or budget to get access to this material.

Price: sliding scale $95-$185 - decide where on the sliding scale you are, explanations are not required, and if the lower end of the scale is impossible for you, please contact us. If you are re-taking a class you've taken with us before, please deduct 50%.

A non-refundable deposit of 50% will hold your place for this workshop; full payment is due prior to the start of class.  We are able to figure out installment payment plans.

People paying at the top end of the sliding scale help to support those at the lower end. We hope to be able to offer discounted places for every workshop we offer.

To book your place please send an email to info@worldtreelyceum.org and request a registration form for the class, or fill out our online form HERE.

Please contact us at the same email address for any further information or questions.
